Frequently Asked Questions about San Diego Charter Bus Rentals

Quotes, Pricing, and Payment

How much does it cost to rent a charter bus in San Diego?

Lots of factors will influence the cost of your bus rental, including how far you’re traveling, what type of bus you want to book, how many people you’re traveling with, the time of year, and more.

You can check out our pricing guide for an idea of what you can expect to pay, but we cannot provide an accurate charter bus quote until you call our team with your specific itinerary details. Our team is available 24 hours a day at 619-209-7804 to give you a free, no-obligation quote on your bus rental.

What other fees will I need to pay on top of my quote?

None! We roll all bus insurance, fuel costs, and driver fees into your initial quote so you won’t be surprised with extra expenses from us. What you see is what you get.

However, please note that any costs accrued while on the road, such as parking passes, road tolls, lodging for your driver, and food and drink for your passengers are your responsibility and won’t be included in your quote. If a significant mess is left behind on your bus, you may be subject to a $250 cleaning fee.

When will my deposit be due?

A deposit of 10-30% the total cost of your bus rental will be due when you decide to book.

When do I need to pay the full cost of my trip?

The full amount quoted to you will be due 14 days before your trip begins.

Reservations and Cancellations

When should I reserve my bus rental?

We always recommend booking as far in advance as possible to make sure that we can get the perfect bus for you. This is especially important for trips that will take place in April, May, or June, as those are typically some of our busiest months. Your best bet will be to book at least 6 months in advance if you can.

Can I change my itinerary after I’ve booked?

We’ll always do our best to accommodate itinerary changes. The earlier you call to request the change, the more likely we’ll be able to make the adjustment! Please note that changes to your trip length or mileage may result in additional charges.

How do I cancel a trip?

To cancel a trip, please call our team at 619-209-7804.

Can I get a refund after canceling?

When you call to cancel, we won’t be able to refund your initial deposit.

If you cancel more than 14 days before your trip begins, you won’t need to pay the remainder of your quote.

What amenities can I request?

If you’d like to request a specific amenity, just let your reservation specialist know!

Can I book an ADA Accessible bus?

Yes! Just let your reservation specialist know that you’ll need an accessible bus. We can find a model with wheelchair lifts, space for wheelchairs, accessible restrooms, and more.

Can I eat and drink on my bus rental?

Food and soft drinks are allowed on charter buses (at your own expense) as long as all trash is picked up after your trip.

Alcohol can be allowed on board (at your own expense) for passengers over 21. We may need to make additional arrangements before you can bring hard drinks, so be sure to bring it up with your reservation specialist!

Please note that an additional cleaning fee of $250 may be charged if a mess is left behind on your charter bus.

Charter Bus Drivers

Do I need to pay extra for a bus driver?

No! Every charter bus rental comes with a professional driver.

Can I drive my own bus?

Unfortunately, we cannot permit renters to drive their own charter buses.

Do I need to pay for food, drinks, and hotels for my bus driver?

Your driver will have their own money for food and drinks, but you may offer them anything you’ve already brought on board for your group.

If your trip spans multiple days, you will need to book hotel rooms for your driver. We recommend choosing at least a 3-star hotel to ensure that your driver is well-rested before they hit the road again.

How often will my driver need to take breaks?

You can discuss pit stops and driving breaks with your driver, but bus drivers are legally required to take at least an 8-hour break after driving for 10 consecutive hours or remaining on-duty for 15 consecutive hours.
